Pastor Dwight Steward was born and raised in Halley, Arkansas. He accepted Jesus Christ, as his Lord and Savior, at 8 years of age and assisted his mother in various duties in the Ministry. Under the leadership of Reverend A. D. Ford, at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Hurd Arkansas, Pastor Steward was crowned a Deacon at 13 years of age. Pastor Steward recalls that as a young boy, his mother often shared with him that before he was born, God spoke to her and said that he would be a preacher. Pastor Steward stated that he would respond, ”Madea”, (mother), stop saying that, God hasn’t told me that!”

Pastor Steward married Evangelist Cynthia Steward in December 1984. They have been married for 38.5 years. They have one lovely biological daughter and precious little granddaughter/grandson. They are second parents to four other lovely daughters and one handsome son, as well as second grandparents to two other precious/talented granddaughters and three handsome grandsons.

Upon the passing of Evangelist Steward’s mother, in 1986 and after being married for only 14 months, Pastor Steward and Evangelist Steward accepted the awesome responsibility of raising Evangelist Steward’s three younger sisters. Pastor Steward is dedicated to God and family.

Pastor Steward served for 20 years, in the United States Navy, at Miramar Naval Air Station, San Diego, California. He retired as an Aviation Electrician’s Mate Senior Chief (E8). After retiring from the military, (Navy), in 1994, Pastor Steward pursued his childhood dream of being a State Trooper and became a Police Officer. He served for 2 years with the Sheriff Department in San Diego, California, as a Deputy Jailer and with the West Memphis, Arkansas, Police Department for 4 years, as a Patrolman and later as a Criminal Investigator.

Pastor Steward joined Holy Hands Church of God In Christ in 1988, where under the leadership of Pastor James F. Gaines, he was ordained a Deacon in 1989. After relocating to Arkansas, in 1996, Pastor Steward and his family joined 15th Street Church of God In Christ. Under the leadership of Superintendent John H. Bennett, Pastor Steward was licensed as a Minister of the Gospel, in April 1998. Pastor Steward was ordained, as an Elder, in the Church Of God In Christ, in July 1999, by Bishop L.T. Walker, during the Holy Convocation for Arkansas 1st Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction.

Pastor Steward served as the Assistant Pastor at Imani Temple Church of God In Christ, in Temecula, California, under the leadership of Superintendent James E. Mason, from December 2012 to February 2019. He has served faithfully, in Ministry, in the Church of God In Christ for 34 years, in various capacities, including, Youth Leader, Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, Ministerial Training Staff, District Evangelist, and District Treasurer. In 2023, under the leadership of So CA 2nd Jurisdictional Ecclesiastical Prelate, Bishop Charles G. Nauden, Pastor Steward was appointed as the Financial Secretary.

While Pastor Steward was traveling to Chatsworth, California, on June 13, 2018, for a job interview, God gave him the name, Family Worship Center Church Of God In Christ, for a new Church Ministry. That same day, Pastor Steward received confirmation from God, the theme scripture for Family worship Center, (Hebrews 10:25): “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”

The inaugural service for Family Worship Center Church of God in Christ, (COGIC), was held on Sunday, March 3, 2019, at the location of 26377 Jefferson Ave., Suite F, Murrieta, CA, 92562.

Throughout his life, Pastor Steward believes that each of his job assignments, and Ministry appointments, served as preparation for his calling as a Pastor. He truly believes in the promises of God and is a dedicated teacher of the Word of God.

Evangelist Cynthia Ann Steward was born and raised in Marianna, Arkansas. She experienced the power of God upon her life at the age of 8 yrs old. Evangelist Steward quoted, “I truly underestimated the powerful, spiritual impact that my paternal grandfather, Dr. Rev. Wash Jordan Sr., who lived to be 103 years old, would have on my life!” Evangelist Steward married Pastor Dwight Steward in 1984. In 1986, after the death of her parents, God directed Evangelist Steward and Pastor Steward to become guardians to her three younger sisters. Her sisters are now referred to as their three daughters. Evangelist Steward and Pastor Steward have one biological daughter, granddaughter and grandson. They are second parents to one niece and nephew, second grandparents to two nieces, three nephews and godparents to six.

Evangelist Cynthia Steward has been a member of the Church of God In Christ, (COGIC), since the age of 16, when she began serving in the Ministry. Although she experienced a lot of heartaches/pain, during her childhood and early adult years, God had a plan for her life. Evangelist Steward answered God’s Call to the missionary field in 2005. After extensive trainings in her local church and Jurisdiction, Evangelist Cynthia Steward was licensed as an Evangelist Missionary, in 2008, in San Diego, California, under the Southern CA 2nd Ecclesiastic Jurisdiction’s Prelate, Bishop George Dallas Mckinney and State Supervisor of Women, Mother Gloria Lynch. During Evangelist Steward’s Christian journey, she has served faithfully, in the following capacities, in the Church of God In Christ, (COGIC): Sunday School Teacher (all ages), Sunday School Coordinator, New Members Coordinator, Youth Leader, Elders’ & Ministers’ Wives Secretary, Elders’ & Ministers’ Wives President, Sunshine Band Secretary, Sunshine Band President, Purity Class President, District Finance Secretary, Choir Director/Member and an Usher. Currently, she serves as the The First Lady of Family Worship Center Church of God In Christ, (COGIC), Church Administrator, Youth Teacher and an Usher.

She is a 1988 graduate of Pacific Coast College of Business, San Diego, California, and completed courses of studies in Business Administration at Mesa Community College, San Diego, California; Mid South Community College, West Memphis, Arkansas, and online with California Coast University.

Evangelist Cynthia Steward states that wherever God commands Pastor Dwight Steward to go and serve that she will follow and serve alongside him. The desire of Evangelist Steward’s heart is to see God’s people living a wholesome/blessed life, spiritually, physically, mentally/financially and illuminating the world, with the powerful Word of God.
